AIMS To use sports as means to promote health care, recreation, moral principles and ethics amongst people. Finally, to encourage people at all ages, genders and the special groups, i.e. the disabled, the inferior, to take exercise habitually.
ELIGIBILITY The organizers highly encourage individual participation, whereas for team, more than 3 members are prohibited. All application must however be Hong Kong based.

1. Student Group
Individual or team, (under the guidance of a teacher) can apply directly to the secretariat with the official nomination form school. Students are encouraged to form teams comprising students from different education levels to cultivate a common interest in science and foster sharing of science knowledge amongst them. Student group is divided into:
     ● Secondary School
     ● Tertiary Institution

2. Open Group
Any non-student individual or team of age over 18, can apply directly to the secretariat.
STANDARD An entry should be able to demonstrate a practicability in promoting "Sports & Health" in Hong Kong.
ENTRY FORMAT As the economy of Hong Kong is growing rapidly, efficiency is a must in different career fields. As a matter of fact, the general public is persistently under immense stress. Lack of rest and exercise further prompts health problems being faced by the public. Moreover, with the speedy development of information technology, computer has become an indispensable tool in our life and at work. In view of this, the organizers has set the entry formats of "computer program design", "innovative games", and "new techniques and technology", so as to enable the public to

1)  understand the importance of exercise and health and
2) undertake some exercise and health training with simple facilities/equipments.

COMPETITION 1. Submission of Report
Each entry must be accompanied by a brief report setting out the background, method and basic scientific principles supporting it. The requirements of the report are as follow:

● Abstracts written in BOTH English (<300) and Chinese (<350);
● Report written in English (not less then 2000 words) OR Chinese (not less then 2500 words);
● Reports should include relevant drawings, photos, tables, charts, etc to describe the invention or support the principles behind;
● Submit one copies, typed, on A4-sized paper, double-sided with binding; also send on CD-Rom and submitted to the Secretariat together with the application and Consent from; and

2. Presentation
Selected candidate will be required to give 15 min presentation (in Cantonese or English) to the Selection Committee using the invention, followed by 15 min Q & A session moderated by the Committee. Tentative day will be Jan 25, 2008 (Friday).

Announcement of Winners
Names of winners will be posted on the Sports & Health Exhibition Webpage at the website of the Museum in early March 2008. The Museum will also inform the winners by post.

COPYRIGHT The entry should be originated by the participant. Copyright of the works will be shared by the participant and the Organizers
USE OF ENTRY Once entries have been submitted, the participants agree that the Organizers has the right to exhibit their work, edit their work for publication and exhibition promotional activities, put their work into the Museum collection or other use.
