Summary of interview Graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1995, Dr. Kwok Yuk Lung joined the Department of Medicine at Tuen Mun Hospital after his housemanship and later became a specialist in respiratory medicine. He worked in the Respiratory Medicine Department of Tuen Mun Hospital (TMH), and was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit of Yan Chai Hospital from January to March 2003.
He was a colleague of Dr. Tse Yuen Man, a respiratory medicine specialist in TMH, who was infected with SARS at work and lost her life in the battle against this deadly disease. In the interview, Dr. Kwok also elaborates on the working environment of frontline healthcare workers in public hospitals during SARS and their improvisation of personal protection equipment.
