膠囊直徑為11毫米，長度26毫米，大小跟魚油膠囊相若，重量只有3.3克，容易給吞嚥，之後隨着消化道的蠕動向前移動，每秒捕捉兩張實時圖像。
The capsule, measuring 11 mm in diameter and 26 mm in length, is the size of a fish oil capsule. It weighs only 3.3 grams and is easily swallowed. It moves forward with the peristalsis of the gastrointestinal tract while capturing two real-time images per second.

由光敏晶片獲得的圖像信號會傳輸到接收器中（圖中的第 1 項）。
The image signals obtained by the light-sensitive chip are transmitted to the receiver (item 1 above).
進行檢查時，患者可以繼續日常活動和工作。
While undergoing the procedures, patients can continue with their regular daily activities or even go back to work.
膠囊是一次性使用的設備，降低交叉感染的風險。當電池耗盡後，膠囊會隨排泄物排出體外。
The capsule is a one-time, disposable device, thus reducing the risk of cross-infection. After it runs out of power, it is excreted with faeces.

優點 Advantages
膠囊內窺鏡檢查能夠消除一般內窺鏡檢查所帶來的不適和焦慮感。
Capsule endoscopy can eliminate the discomfort and anxiety associated with ordinary endoscopic examinations.
如果出現原因不明的慢性貧血、腹痛及其他症狀，而透過胃鏡、結腸鏡等傳統胃腸檢查方法亦未能找到病因時，或可考慮膠囊內視鏡檢查。
If there is unexplained chronic anaemia, abdominal pain, and other symptoms, and the causes cannot be found with traditional gastrointestinal examinations such as gastroscopy and colonoscopy, capsule endoscopy can be considered an alternative investigation.

缺點 Disadvantages
若腸道傳輸太慢，可能僅檢查腸道的一部分電池已經失效。若腸道傳輸速度太快，所捕獲的圖像可能模糊不清。膠囊也可能被卡著，那就須要通過手術取出。
If gut transit time is too slow, only a part of the intestines may be examined before the battery fails. If gut transit is too rapid, the images captured may be blurred. The capsule may also become stuck and has to be surgically removed.
