任芥影女士（1924-2012）當時是一名實習助產士，在贊育醫院受訓。她曾在大埔、大澳母嬰健康院及李寶椿診所擔任政府助產士直到退休。
這些記錄加深我們對二戰後助產士培訓的了解，具有很大的意義。

Entirely written and illustrated by hand, the artefacts here are two log books that belonged to a student midwife who recorded obstetrics cases at Tsan Yuk Hospital between 1947 and 1948.
The purpose of keeping a logbook is to prepare midwives to provide accurate and effective support to mothers and newborns. It is important to document their training journey for them to attain the competencies required to meet the scope of practice. Up till modern days, log books remain the main assessment tool for the education and training of midwives worldwide.
The owner, Ms Yam Kai Ying (1924-2012) was a student midwife who trained at Tsan Yuk Hospital at the time. She served as a government midwife in maternal and child health centres in Tai Po, Tai O and Lee Po Chun clinic till retirement.
These records have great significance as they enhance our understanding on midwife training immediately after the Second World War.
